Lt. Brian G. Ahearn
Lt. Brian G. Ahearn was a New York City Firefighter. He served in Manhattan Division 7, Battalion 13, Engine Company 230. He was reported missing that day after running into the towers. He left behind a wife, Debra, and two children, Lauren and Christopher. He ran an annual senior citizen Christmas dinner in his hometown of Huntington, New York, so he was well known in his community. He was an all around good guy that people wanted to be around. Without hesitation, Brian geared up as soon as they got the call and ran straight into the ill-fated building on that day because it was his duty; no questions asked. I chose to research Brian because my dad is a retired fire fighter, so hearing about firefighters that were killed in the line of duty really hits me and makes me thankful that my dad made it through.

I really admire how brave the firefighters, police officers, and rescue crew were. It must be extremely difficult to go into a building thinking that you might now make it out and your family would lose you.
ReplyDeletesome of the bravest people in the world are firefighters. Its always sad hearing about heroes dying, there duty on the line is truly amazing
ReplyDeleteI think the firefighters were such brave heros during this day and every other day. They put themselves in danger and are willing to lose their life for others. I salute the firefighters that lost their lives during this day and all firefighters in general.
