I think I learn best with hands on activity, or the most participation possible.  You see, I can recall a poster from my Spanish II class reading that the most retention comes from teaching a subject, and the list dwindled with doing the subject matter, and went onto less retention the less active the learning was - so listening to a lecture can be the most ineffective way to learn if you're not thinking and closing out distractions.
The purpose of getting an education is to prepare or improve your projected standard of life through altering behavioral habits and improving decision-making.  My purpose of education includes setting forward the human race as whole - all through the projected outcome of the people being educated.
Education means my future.  I look at my education as not only a stepping stone to what I will later do with my life, but also a way for me to develop good habits that will help me the rest of my life.  In all honesty, I am concerned about my future.  Not in whole because of my school performance, but because I cannot seem to shake that I'm doing something wrong!  I feel like I am not as capable as I should be at person to person interaction, as well as putting aside pride for conflict resolution and solving problems - I get scared.
This is not the poster that was in my Spanish II class - but holds the same idea.
