Good presentation in general! Both did a good job of projecting their voices. The presentation had a lot of good information on the causes and effects of the Prohibition. I thought it was interesting how the amount of self proclaimed rabbis increased because their ability to posses wine. The only negative point I noticed was a couple pauses in the presentation but that was not too distracting. Good Job!
ReplyDeleteBesides Dom getting stuck a few times you both did a very good job. Prohibition is a very interesting time in American history that could most likely never happen again. But since it happened it is our duty to learn about it and not allow it to happen again.
ReplyDeleteI thought you guys did a good job with presenting your information. I liked how you put all those pictures in your slide as you were talking. Maybe you could go over your notes a little bit before you present but I know it's a little nerve racking getting up in front of people and talking. I enjoyed the song, I thought it was awesome how you found a song about prohibition. I also thought you made the presentation very informative because I did not know much about prohibition and how bad it was but now I do. Overall I liked your presentation and thought it was good, also I liked Dominique's sweatshirt.
ReplyDeleteI think the information was reasearched well and there were good facts in the presentation. I learned that alcohol was peritted for church ceremonies and that church attendance increased. I think the best part of the presentaion was the main points and the information provided. there were not many negative things but the only two things that I can think of are maybe talking a little slower and rehearsing the notes a little better.
ReplyDeleteI think you both did a very nice job. It was obvious that you had a well researched and planned presentation. The only negative were a couple of pauses here and there but nothing major. You both presented interesting facts and were great when asked to expand on things during the question portion. Overall great job :)
ReplyDeleteYou two had a very large subject that could have gone almost anywhere. I feel like your information covered the important points and you didn't just use filler information. I also thought the song was cool. The only thing to work on might be using "um" and "like."
ReplyDeleteI thought you guys did a good job on your presentation. Prohibition was a very big topic, and there was a lot of information that you two had to cover. I think you guys did a good job at it. The only thing I noticed was little pauses hear and there but who cares. It wasn't a big deal because you were still able to project what you wanted. Over all great job!
ReplyDeleteYou had many nice facts about the reaction to prohibition. People want what they can't have, and taking away one of the most popular parts of social entertainment at the time created an upheaval in society. It is very interesting how more pharmacies popped up, and how church congregations grew, just so people could get their alcohol. It goes to show how determined they were to go against the government any way they could. Good flow though out presentation, even with the very few times you lost your place in your cue cards.
ReplyDeleteYou two did an awesome job on your presentation. I knew a little bit about the prohibition but you definitely gave some facts that I didn't know about. I also really liked the song that you played, it really tied into your presentation. I also loved your power point, the pictures were really cool to see. I would suggest to look at your note cards a few times before presenting because it seemed like you lost your place a few times, but other then that it was really good!
ReplyDeleteI think you guys had a good presentation. I like how it was filled with info about the prohibition and i really liked your thesis. The only thing that I could say would have been better was if you stayed a little closer. To me, you guys seemed a bit separated during the presentation.
ReplyDeleteI liked your presentation because the Powerpoint was well implemented with the speech. The film was an excellent choice. I recall your speaking going over great points in Prohibition. If I could change one thing about the overall presentation, I would recommend telling us what the FDR quote meant - In retrospect Mike's question made that unnecessary. You guys had great stage confidence and I appreciated your presentation etiquette.
ReplyDeleteGreat presentation you two. You two helped me realize how much bigger prohibition in America was compared to what I thought before the Powerpoint. Hopefully America does not ever decide to do something like that again. There is not really many things that I can criticize about your presentation other than a couple of brief pauses. That was not a big deal though. You still got your point across.
ReplyDeleteI thought you guys had a very good presentation. I really enjoyed the various pictures on your slides and the song you played at the end, versus doing a video like the rest of the class. One thing to consider is maybe reading a little less off the notecards. Other than that point, you guys did a good job.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I thought was really interesting about your presentation was I learned was that the number of pharmacist tripled in NYC during that time. I thought the presentation was very informative. I also thought you seemed separate. Other than that is was very good.
ReplyDeleteI thought you guys had great insight and a lot of good information. I thought when Meri was talking she had great flow and everything ran together. When Dominique was talking sometimes you didn't know what to say. Overall though I thought your presentation was great and I learned a lot.
ReplyDeleteI think you guys did a very good job on the 18th and 21st amendments. mari and dom you guys both knew your topic well you did your research and it showed. you guys did great. The onky thing I could say is the brief pauses but other then that really good presentation.
ReplyDeleteYou guys did a good job. Loved the video and your presentation overall was great maybe next time you guys should just talk from knowing what your going to talk about instead of looking at your guys note card a lot.
ReplyDeleteGreat presentaion that you guys did. I liked the subject that you guys choseed to do you presentaion on and it was very informative. The only thing that i will say is that maybe you should try not to look at the note cards to often.
