Before jobs run out

"How long do you plan to be in Arizona?"
"No longer'n we can get across here."
When they are stopped by the boarder guard in Arizona. The way Tom answered the question I think sums up the idea of the chapter. They are in a rush to get to California. They have been on the roads for weeks now and they want to. Get there as soon as they can. They don't really want to stop they want to be there already. They seem to be a little worried that by the time they get there the jobs will be all taken and they will have no jobs to get and it'll be a waste for them to go to California.

The event that also had struck me was when Noah walked away from his family into something he never encountered really this way before. The unknown. By the river he was thinking he never wanted to leave the place he was at he saw it as a beautiful place that he never wanted to leave. Noah didn't want to work in fields do back breaking work. It wasn't really his lifestyle or the way that he had wanted to live his life.he wants to be free and live life to what he thinks is the fullest. Tom asked him how he would get food and Noah's response was about catching fish and living off of the land.

The word wisdom means a lot. It's to learn from your prior mistakes or challenges and talking to those who have lived through that. Talking to your parents your grandparents and learning along the way of life. Learn not only from your mistakes or wrong doings but also those around you as well. A life situation I can connect to wisdom is talking to my dad about long term management of money. He is 52 years old he told me times where he made good and bad choices with his money and those I took a mental note on and I will apply those to my life when those financial needs or occasions arise. Wisdom is learning as you go.

  1. I really like what you did with the title and what you think the most important part was. We have really really different opinions on what we think is most important but i can see where your coming from and I somewhat agree with you. I also agree with your op[inion on wisdom. Wisdom comes from yourself and not anybody else.

  2. My dad's the same way. It's just so hard to get help from him sometimes because I'm so sensitive and he's so straightforward. We always get in arguments because I take offense to his brutal honesty (No one wants to be criticized - especially by their parents) and when I try to explain reasoning for the things I do, in doing so, my father gets offended - my guess is that he takes it as a form of disrespect. I suppose that's why I've gotten so good at getting wisdom from other people.
