Exploration 5                                                                 

          "Them Goddamn Okies got no and no feeling. They ain't human. A human being wouldn't live like do. A human being couldn't stand it to be so dirty and miserable. They ain't a of a lot better than gorillas." I think this one quote alone says a lot and means so much too. This chapter in The Grapes of Wrath had so much going on in their family like the family was a one big happy family but ever since all this madness came its like the family is falling apart. In the chapter ma said "this Family is falling apart" because Grandma is ill and then Noah left behind and stayed by the river. People warned the Joads about Californians that they don't like people like the Joads and they called them "Okies" meaning "scum." So the family stopped at a place and heard two guys talk bad about the outsiders and the Joads didn't listen and still went to California. People of California don't want no okies in their land to in there land or work there either.
          "You ain't gonna get steady work. Gonna scrabble for your dinner ever' day. An' you gonna do her with people lookin' mean at you." To me this is one quote important in this book. It says a lot it self; meaning everyday your going to have to bust your butt just to have food on the table and you going to deal with horrible people being mean to you in there home. The family is still heading to Cali knowing that there might not be any jobs or any good coming from there. Pa has met a couple of people on there way their and there was a father and son who left Cali because it wasn't what they expected. So they said to Pa it was a disappointment and they should not go there. Everyone felt like there wasn't going to be anything there so their hope was down, but they head already gone to far to go back so they still con. there journey to Cali hoping there is a lot for them to do there.
          Wisdom is something we learn from real life events, and knowledge is what we get from learning things from school or work. The more older one gets the more he/ she gets wiser
 because of experience in life, and the knowledge you get is by learning more. I know that the older you get the smarter one gets too that's for most people but not all. One time I saw a Game boy liked and I wanted it but my parents wouldn't buy me it. So one day I saw my neighbor with it and i took it and later got caught, so my family and parents where disappointed at me and mad too so that made me feel bad and change me way on that jealous feeling. I learned not to steal.
