"When we get there, we'll get there. When we get a job we'll work, an' when we don't get a job we'll set on our tail." The reason why I think that this is one of the most important quotes in this book is because they have been traveling to California which was their main goal and to get a job. Even when the man told them that California was not a nice place and that getting a steady job was near impossible they still were willing to go on.
Another event that stuck out to me was the death of grandma. She was sick for most of the trip down to California but to her death was not surprising. Although i had hoped that she would get better and make it, I still knew that her making it out of this alive was slime.
The difference between wisdom and knowledge is that knowlege is something you learn from books or people while wisdom you learn from life.
I really like this quote also!
ReplyDeleteI think that this quote shows that the Joad family family are ready to do whatever they need to for a good life in California.
ReplyDeleteThis family was determined not to fail. They heard so many tales of those who failed and it did not stop them for a second.
ReplyDeleteI must agree that grandma's death was easily foreshadowed. I was surprised that ma let her die knowing she is a big family person. I'm thinking she did it for the better of the family.
