Last few chapters of the book still shows the Joad family unable to catch a break with challenges and obstacles. Rose of Sharon proved herself at the very ending helping another family. Ma still continues to stay strong even after having to let Tom leave. Their thrive to survive and continue is unreal and amazing. Strongest family I would say. Even though they still have hardships its nothing they can't handle.
What we can learn is that unity build strong bonds that help dealing with situations easier. Joad family is nothing but loyalty and and hard work. Even though they don't have the best of luck, their hard work pays off helping them be able to stick together. For our future and country, this novel can teach us that even in our darkest times we can come out as long everyone puts effort and is fair to one another.
I agree with you. It seems like the Joad family is not able to catch a break. It seems like they are finally doing okay and then rain continues to come and the box car floods.
ReplyDeleteThey are such a strong family but I have to say it would of been nice to find out how the family ended up. But the ending Steinbeck wrote was a pretty surprising ending. I am sure no one saw that coming. But overall it was a great read, better than expected.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Dom. The joads couldn't catch a break nothing would go the way they wanted it to go. but they will be fine they are strong and the rain may help them get to the life they want to get to.
ReplyDeleteI like what you got out of the Joad family. I completely agree. It is what I wrote my entire paper over. I also agree with your belief that hard work pays off and that it will help them stick together.

ReplyDeletei think you brought up some really interesting ideas. throughout the book it was just one problem after another, not only for tom, but for the whole family. i think that hard work is very important and that you can not achive what you want in life without it.

ReplyDeleteThe family has gone through so much throughout this novel but they survived it all too, so we can't forget how strong the Joads are as a family. That's the main main they got through all the pain and kept moving forward with their heads held high.
ReplyDeleteThe Joads are incredibly strong and it is really inspirational to see that. They really won't give up no matter what. They continue to fight through all of the obstacles that they face. It is really amazing.
